Anuja Khokhani

Graphic designer & Illustrator

Hello! I am a graduate of Fine Arts with a specialisation in commercial arts from the Sheth CN College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad.

After graduating in 2011, I joined Akar InfoMedia Pvt. Ltd., a publishing & event management firm based in Ahmedabad. During my four and a half years there, I got to learn a lot about publication design, print production as well as the importance of time management. After this four and a half year journey, in 2015, I took up a job at Jaypore.com in New Delhi to explore more opportunities through online media. I had a year-long intense stint with them, where I lead the graphics team, planning daily activities for the graphics team as well as working on bigger tasks like packaging. Through my experience with both these organisations, I discovered my love for the print medium and appreciated the importance of delivering a personalised experience with the work I do.

At the start of 2017, I created a separate space for my freelance creative pursuits, under the brand Nimboo ka Achaar. With this venture, I started working with younger, emerging brands with niche products and solutions, which not only cater to personal experiences but also share my passion of working at the grassroots level. During this phase, I started exploring and delivering illustration-based design solutions to cater to these needs.

Apart from this, my other deep-rooted interest has always been working in the Indian crafts sector – collaborating with artisans, learning more about the crafts, their lives, and creating awareness amongst artisans about design in their crafts. This interest is reflected in many self-initiated as well as commercial projects that I do.

End of 2018, with eight years of work experience in hand and a hope to continue pursuing all my core interests as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, I moved back home to Ahmedabad from New Delhi.

Apart from designing, I enjoy cooking and baking. Some of my early baking experiments are documented on my blog The Uncooked Cook. I enjoy early morning bicycle rides when the summer heat is not at its peak. I am currently learning how to swim, hoping to someday be able to swim in the ocean.
